Royal Burgers will unveil its latest Double Deck technologies at IAA Transportation 2026, the year in which the company celebrates 100 years of transportation innovation and received the Royal Designation. Under the theme “Double Deck solutions built around your operations,” we’ll demonstrate how our comprehensive Double Deck solutions are designed to support a wide range of logistics operations. The focus is clear: to help carriers increase their transport capacity, operate more efficiently, reduce empty miles, operate more sustainably, and lower the total cost of ownership.
From September 15 through 20, 2026, visitors can experience our full Double Deck lineup in Hall 27, Booth F38, and Outdoor Area S33 in Hanover.
Dock to Dock, the new generation of Double Deck
At the heart of our IAA offering is Dock to Dock, the new generation of Double Deck technology, developed in collaboration with our logistics partner Emons. Dock to Dock was developed for operations where loading efficiency, flexibility, and speed are essential. The trailer connects directly to standard loading docks, while the adjustable floor system enables efficient loading of both loading levels. But the flexibility goes even further. Thanks to the adjustable floor, the trailer can be configured as a conventional trailer with an interior height of 2.50 meters, allowing 33 units to be transported at full height. This enables carriers to also use the trailer for conventional return loads, providing more opportunities to significantly reduce empty miles and get more value out of every trip. Dock to Dock is suitable for road, rail, and short-sea transport, including LZV combinations, and thus offers a single flexible double-deck solution for multiple transport applications.
Introduction to the Royal Burgers Smart System
IAA Transportation is also the occasion on which we are introducing our new Smart System, an integrated trailer intelligence system that goes beyond conventional telematics. Because the Smart System is directly connected to the trailer’s power supply, sensors, and functions, it provides real-time insight into the trailer’s status and lays the foundation for predictive maintenance. As a result, carriers can identify maintenance needs sooner, increase uptime, and manage their fleets more efficiently. Monitoring key components throughout their service life can also extend the trailer’s lifespan and contribute to more sustainable fleet operations.
A Complete Double Deck Solution
In addition to Dock to Dock and the Smart System, we are showcasing two other Double Deck solutions designed for specific logistics operations. Our Drawbar Double Deck brings the benefits of Double Deck technology to trailer combinations and creates additional flexibility for high-volume transport. The City Double Deck was developed specifically for urban and last-mile distribution and brings greater transport capacity to operations where maneuverability and flexibility are essential. Together, these developments demonstrate how we continue to expand Double Deck technology from a single trailer configuration to a comprehensive Double Deck solution built around the operation.
