Aalsmeer, March 27, 2026 – Burgers Carrosserie B.V., a manufacturer of innovative trailers and logistics solutions, will receive the Royal Predicate 'Koninklijk' on March 27. The predicate will be awarded by the King's Commissioner in North Holland, Mr. Arthur van Dijk, in the presence of, among others, the Mayor of Aalsmeer, Mr. Gido Oude Kotte. From that moment forward, the company will officially bear the name Royal Burgers B.V.

With this predicate, the company is honored for its century-long history, its proven continuity, its societal significance, and its strong position within the Dutch manufacturing industry. Burgers already celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025, and this recognition marks a new phase in its development.

“This designation is a tremendous honor and feels like an acknowledgment for everyone who has contributed to Burgers over the past hundred years,” states Jeroen Naalden, CEO of Burgers. “From generation to generation, Burgers has evolved from a local family business into an international player. The privilege of now bearing the 'Royal' designation is not only a crowning achievement for our work but also a confirmation that innovation, reliability, and craftsmanship are enduring values.”

From Aalsmeer to the International Trailer Market

Burgers was founded in 1925 as a family business, initially constructing carts and transport solutions for the agricultural sector. In the subsequent decades, the company evolved into a specialist in enclosed Carrosserie and trailers. The robust growth of flower exports through the Aalsmeer flower auction provided a significant impetus: for many years, Burgers constructed Carrosserie for the (international) ornamental horticulture logistics.

Double Deck: More Efficient Transportation and Lower CO₂ Emissions

With the Double Deck trailer, carriers can transport up to 60% more cargo on a single trip, making more efficient use of drivers and vehicles. Two Double Deck trailers can do the work of three standard trailers.

The economic impact is most noticeable over medium and long distances. For trips longer than 300 kilometers, driver, fuel, and toll costs account for 80 percent of the total expenses. With a Double Deck, you need two trucks instead of three, which means half the fuel, tolls, and driver costs. This results in a significant operational advantage that only grows as tolls and road pricing increase. In addition, companies realize savings on fuel, maintenance, tolls, and insurance costs.

The benefits are not only logistical but also sustainable: through fewer trips and more efficient loading, CO₂ emissions can be reduced by up to 40%. Burgers further enhances this by integrating solar panels on trailers and implementing a take-back program where usable components are given a second life.

Accelerated Growth and Future Vision

Burgers In recent years, the company has evolved from a strong regional manufacturer into a manufacturing company experiencing international growth. Driven by rising demand for Double Deck solutions, the expansion of its service network, and increasing exports, the organization has seen strong growth in both revenue and headcount.

“We have been building in Aalsmeer for a hundred years, but our focus is global,” continues Jeroen Naalden. “With Royal Burgers, we aim to further expand into international markets and continue investing in solutions that make transport more efficient, sustainable, and intelligent.”

The official name change to Royal Burgers B.V. aligns with the company's international standing. “Royal” is globally recognizable and accessible, fitting the ambition for further growth within the international trailer market.
