At IAA Transportation 2026, Royal Burgers will showcase the new Double Deck Drawbar developed for GREIF Mietwäsche. The trailer will be on display at Outdoor Area S33 and demonstrates how additional transport capacity and customer-specific engineering can strengthen laundry logistics.
The Double Deck Drawbar is designed to transport large volumes of clean and used laundry efficiently between GREIF’s production facilities and distribution depots.
More capacity for laundry logistics
Laundry is typically light but voluminous. Available cargo space is often fully used before the maximum vehicle weight is reached. With two loading decks, GREIF can make better use of the available internal height and transport more roll containers in a single journey.
The trailer carries clean laundry from GREIF’s production facilities to its distribution depots. Used laundry returns to the production locations for cleaning. Carrying more volume per journey reduces transport movements, operating costs and CO2 emissions per transported unit.
For GREIF, the extra capacity responds directly to rising transport and diesel costs, while supporting a more efficient and sustainable logistics operation. As the company’s locations and customer base grow, more capacity is needed to deliver clean laundry and return used laundry to the production facilities.
High-coupling configuration for full fleet compatibility
A key technical feature of this Double Deck Drawbar is its specially developed high-coupling configuration. Double Deck drawbar trailers are normally built with a low coupling. GREIF needed a solution that could work across the different truck configurations in its existing fleet.
